Vancouver Island Amateur Adult
Chamber Music Weekend

May 30 – June 1, 2025

Join fellow amateur musicians for an inspiring weekend of music-making
at the beautiful Kiwi Cove Lodge in Ladysmith BC

Over the years as a musician my greatest pleasure has come from making music with others- singers, instrumentalists, classical, music theatre, contemporary! The result is always the same-joy, inspiration and growth!
Combining that collaborative musical experience with travel to a fresh setting always stimulates new thoughts and exciting ideas!

Our hope in bringing together the VIAA chamber music weekend is to provide a supportive, relaxing getaway that affords each player the time, space and surroundings to focus on their musical skills while enjoying the company of like-minded enthusiasts!

Coaching sessions will provide insights and information. Sharing time together with fellow musicians will provide inspiration and connection. And the beautiful setting of the Kiwi Cove Lodge will nurture and provide onsite relaxation and restoration.

I am thrilled to be joined on faculty by three wonderful colleagues: Trish Horricks, Alexandra Lee and Pippa Williams.

These fine artists share the love of collaborative music-making and helping amateur artists to grow! They will undoubtedly create a memorable musical weekend for all of our participants.
We hope you will join us for the first VIAA Chamber Music Weekend!

It should be noted that this weekend would not have come together without the initial inspiration and tireless dedication of our chief organizer, Judy Delogne. You will meet this delightful lady as she immerses herself in flute playing throughout the weekend!

See you there!

I am thrilled to be joined on faculty by two wonderful colleagues Pippa Williams and Trish Horricks.

Working with Pippa as a exceptional collaborative pianist with the British Columbia Boys Choir and The Village Voices of Qualicum Beach and in her role as an oboist with the Vancouver Island Symphony has been a great pleasure. Her contributions to the musical life of our area continue as she steps into new roles in both the choral and instrumental communities!

Trish Horrocks was one of the first instrumentalists I heard when I came to the island, as she led her outstanding, award-winning string group Fiddelium. It was a thrilling performance!! Trish is an inspirational, driving force for string players of all ages throughout the province and her talents as teacher, composer and singer have enriched the Nanaimo musical community immeasurably!

Both of these remarkable artists share the common vision of bringing fine music-making to all and will undoubtedly create a memorable musical weekend for our chamber groups.
